PLEASANTON, CA — August 17, 2009
F. Rodgers Corporation, in conjunction with DPR and Lathrop Construction, hosted the Contractors Fore Kids Charity Golf Tournament at Castlewood Country Club on August 17th, 2009. The support from contractors all over the San Francisco Bay Area was amazing. With a great turn out, the event was a success.
Contractors Fore Kids was founded in 2005 by its committee members: Art Gardner, Rick Martellaro, Ray Trebino, Mark Thompson, and Steve Spence. Their mission is an on-going effort to help those less fortunate, particularly children in need. They choose organizations each year that need financial help to improve the quality of life for a child or children.
This year they sponsored three charities, including the Oakland Children’s Hospital, McHenry House, and Joey Aguiar Foundation. All three charities were present at the reception that evening and spoke to the sponsors about their cause and how the money helps the children and their families. Emma, a mother of a child with cancer, came to speak about the amazing programs at the Oakland Children’s Hospital and how the CFK donation would keep the Psychology Oncology Program running for another month.
Through the tears and laughter, Contractors Fore Kids was proud to raise $30,000 for the charities chosen this year. Thank you to everyone that participated and donated their time to make Contractors Fore Kids such an amazing and successful event. They look forward to seeing everyone again next year.
